4 Time-Saving Veg Prep Hacks
Whether it’s scooping mango with a cup, peeling ginger with a spoon or cutting a handful of cherry tomatoes at once, these fruit and veg hacks will save you time cooking, so you can spend more time eating.
Scoop mango in seconds
Place a highball or pint glass in front of you, and slide the mango half down the side of the glass so the flesh is on one side and the peel is on the other. Then, presto! Sliceable mango that you can chop up into a zingy Mexican salsa. Yum!
Peel ginger with a spoon
The easiest way to peel ginger? With a teaspoon.
Chop cherry tomatoes in no time
Place your cherry tomatoes on a flat, sturdy surface (like a chopping board). Then rest a plate or plastic Tupperware lid over your cherry tomatoes, and rest your hand on top to hold it in place. Using a serrated knife, you should be able to slice all the tomatoes in one go. Easy!
Peel lots of garlic at once
If you usually add three cloves of garlic when the recipe calls for one, this hack is for you. Just add garlic cloves to a jar or container with a lid, and give it a good shake around. The skins should slide straight off – magic!
