The ultimate air-fried festive spread
This show-stopping spread is here to kick your Christmas celebrations up a notch. Easy, breezy and oh-so-cheesy, this cheese board comes together in a flash and is guaranteed to impress the grazers.
We’ve decked it out with the ultimate line-up of air-fried snacks – from sticky, caramelised cocktail sausages to sweet, spiced nuts and crunchy cheese bites that ooze with melty goodness.
So crank up your air fryer and let the festivities commence.
Caramelised Onion Glazed Cocktail Sausages
390g pack raw cocktail sausages
50g caramelised onion chutney
1 tbsp honey
Step 1 Preheat your air fryer to 170°C.
Step 2 Pop the cocktail sausages in the basket and cook for 10-12 minutes, giving the basket a shake now and then to make sure they cook evenly.
Step 3 Meanwhile, in a large bowl, mix together the chutney, honey, and 1 tbsp of boiling water until smooth.
Step 4 Once the sausages are cooked, toss them in the sticky sauce until coated. Then, add them back into the air fryer for 2 more minutes to let the sauce caramelise to sticky perfection. Serve immediately and dig in.
Rosemary and Parmesan Popcorn
75g popcorn kernels
20g parmesan
1 sprig rosemary
1 tsp sea salt flakes
Step 1 Preheat your air fryer to 200°C then add the popcorn kernels to the basket.
Step 2 Pop the basket back in and cook for 7 minutes. Once done, let the popcorn sit in the air fryer for an extra 30 seconds to catch any final pops.
Step 3 While the popcorn is cooking, remove the stem from the rosemary sprig and finely chop the leaves then mix with the sea salt flakes. This is your rosemary salt.
Step 4 Transfer the popcorn to a mixing bowl and toss with rosemary salt and finely grate parmesan over the top. Serve up immediately and enjoy the crunch.
Pepperoni Pizza Christmas Trees
Serves 6
100g mild cheddar cheese
1 pack pre-rolled puff pastry
1.5 tbsp tomato paste
0.5 tsp dried basil
45g pepperoni
Step 1 Preheat your air fryer to 180°C. Slice the cheddar into 5mm thick slices and use a star-shaped biscuit cutter to cut out stars. Grate or roughly chop any cheese offcuts and set them aside.
Step 2 Make your pizza sauce by mixing the tomato paste, dried basil, a pinch of salt and pepper, and 1 tbsp of water in a bowl.
Step 3 Unroll the puff pastry and cut it in half along the shorter side. Spread the pizza sauce over one half, then layer on the pepperoni and sprinkle with the grated cheddar. Place the other half of the pastry on top to make a sandwich.
Step 4 Slice the pastry sandwich into roughly 2.5cm wide strips. Fold each strip back and forth to form a Christmas tree shape. Secure the tree with a cocktail stick, leaving about 1cm of the stick poking out at the top — this is where you’ll attach the cheddar star later.
Step 5 Place the pastry trees in the air fryer in a single layer (you may need to cook them in batches). If prepping ahead, you can freeze them before cooking. Cook for 9-11 minutes until golden and crisp.
Step 6 Once cooked, let them cool before attaching the cheddar star to the top of each tree then dig in.
Crispy Gooey Cheese Bites
7 Babybels (wax packaging removed)
1 egg
30g tortilla chips (we recommend paprika flavoured)
Step 1 Preheat your air fryer to 180°C. Crush the tortilla chips until they resemble fine breadcrumbs.
Step 2 Crack the egg into a bowl, whisk it, and dip each cheese into the egg mixture. Then roll them in the crushed tortilla crumbs until coated (try to get as much on as you can).
Step 3 Pop them into the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes until crisp and golden.
Step 4 Carefully remove with tongs and serve hot.
Christmas Spiced Candied Nuts
250g mixed nuts
1 orange
75g brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
Pinch of ground cloves
Step 1 Preheat your air fryer to 180°C.
Step 2 Finely grate the orange zest into a bowl, then mix it with the sugar, spice, and juice of half an orange until combined. Stir in the nuts and toss until they’re fully coated in the sweet, spiced mixture.
Step 3 Line the air fryer basket with greaseproof paper and spread the coated nuts in an even layer. Pop the basket in and cook for 8 minutes, giving them a stir halfway through to make sure they cook evenly.
Step 4 When they’re done, remove the nuts and let them cool before serving.
