This Iced Blueberry Matcha Latte is worth the hype
Spring sipping just got a whole lot sweeter with our take on the viral Iced Blueberry Matcha Latte. Combining earthy notes of matcha green tea with the sweetness of fresh blueberries, this tasty TikTok trend is a matcha made in heaven.
Ingredients
Blueberry syrup (makes 4)
- 150g blueberries
- 80g sugar
- 200ml cold water
- 1 wedge of lemon
Matcha (makes 2)
- 2 tsp matcha powder
- 4 tbsp hot water (not boiling)
- 1 tsp honey
- 250ml milk of your choosing
- Lots of ice
1. First, make your blueberry syrup. Combine blueberries, sugar and cold water in a small pan and bring it to a boil on medium heat. Once boiling, add a squeeze of lemon juice and simmer for 20 minutes or until syrupy.
2. Blitz the blueberry mixture in a food processor. Top tip: whiz it up for even longer if you like a smoother consistency. Pop the syrup into the fridge until cool.
3. Once your syrup is cool, you can start your matcha latte. Sift the matcha into a container and whisk in hot water until no lumps remain.
4. Add your blueberry syrup to a glass with honey, and follow with ice and milk. Top with your whisked matcha. Mix and enjoy.
