Feasting with Frida: Grenadine & Tequila Punch
Surrealist superstar and renowned revolutionary, Frida Kahlo, was one of Mexico’s most important cultural icons. She also knew how to throw one heck of a fiesta.
Hosting lavish parties for the who’s-who of society was one of Frida’s many claims to fame in mid-century Mexico City. Her home the Casa Azul was a magnet for the cream of the political, artistic and celebrity worlds. Dinner parties were the stage for lively political and raucous debates, lubricated by generous sloshes of Frida’s top tipple: tequila. No party at La Casa Azul would be complete without this lip-loosening libation.
Want to fiesta like Frida? This ruby-red tequila and grenadine cocktail will get your guests into the party spirit. Lavished with lime and laced with the mightiest mezcal of them all, Frida’s summer-ready punch is the perfect party aperitif for her eye-popping red snapper.
