Chimichurri Sauce Bombs
We love a good cooking hack at Gousto, and this cheat using frozen chimichurri sauce has completely blown us away.
Chimichurri is an Argentinian condiment made with fresh herbs, garlic, olive oil and chilli. You’ll often see this zingy sauce served over steak, but why stop there? With this hack, you’ll freeze chimichurri into ice cubes so you can melt it over sizzling chicken thighs, roast potatoes or even a veggie pasta salad.
It’s so quick and easy, and tastes great on just about everything.
Ingredients
1-2 shallots, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
Fresh coriander, chopped
Fresh parsley, chopped
Fresh oregano, chopped
2-3 fresh jalapenos, sliced
500 ml extra virgin olive oil
Juice of 3 lemons
Salt and pepper, to taste
Method
Step 1: Stir all the ingredients in a measuring jug until fully combined.
Step 2: Pour your chimichurri sauce into a 14-hole ice cube tray and freeze overnight.
Step 3: Whenever you fancy, pop one of your chimichurri cubes out and melt it over your favourite foods (pork chops, chicken breast, you name it!) to add some killer flavour.
