Battle of the Buns Competition Terms & Conditions

1. This Promotion is only open to residents of the UK over the age of 18. The competition is open to both new and existing customers.
2. To ensure fairness, employees of Gousto and anyone else professionally connected to this Promotion are not allowed to enter.
3. Promoter: SCA Investments Limited T/A Gousto, Unit 1.8 & 1.9, The Shepherds Building Central, Charecroft Way, Hammersmith, London W14 0EE, UK.
4. Promotion Period: Participants must enter between 00.01am on the 10th October 2023 BST and 23:59 GMT on the 14th November 2023.
5. To enter, participants must send a picture of themselves next to a street name sign inspired by a burger or hotdog ingredient to: battleofthebuns@gousto.co.uk. a) Not sure what constitutes a burger or hotdog ingredient? This could be anything from lettuce, cheese, bacon, cucumber, bun, pickle, or mustard, to the more unusual ingredients found in our new Battle of the Buns range, we’re asking you to get creative! We will also accept words within street names too, so if you live on or near Chillingham Rd in Durham (chilli – get it?) as an example, you can still enter.
6. Don’t live on a UK street inspired by a burger or hot-dog ingredient, but pass by one on your daily dog walk, on a visit to friends, or any other scenario? Then take a snap and enter by following the steps outlined in paragraph 5 above, this still counts. You can still enter with a snap of a nearby street, even if you don’t technically live there.
7. Prize Winners: Winning participants will be notified by email by 28th November 2023 and will be sent instructions on how to claim their prize.
8. The Prize: a) The Gousto chefs’ favourite photograph will receive a year’s supply of Gousto boxes. There will only be one winner selected for a year’s supply of Gousto boxes. A “year’s supply” means  a maximum of one Gousto box per week and therefore up to a maximum of 52 regular Gousto recipe boxes during the 12 month period. Offer only valid for standard recipes and for boxes containing 3 recipes for 2 people, each to the value of £29.99. The offer is available for 12 months from date of sign up. If you are unable to receive boxes due to holiday, sickness, or any other reason, you may pause your subscription for as long as required. However, in the event you pause your subscription and skip any delivery weeks, you will not be able to carry forward any boxes into any following week(s). You will therefore lose your right to a free box for that week(s). The prize is for up to a maximum of 52 boxes during the calendar year and no allowances can be made. The prize does not include recipes with surcharge amounts. This prize is subject to the delivery charge outlined at paragraph 10 below. Therefore the winner will be required to pay Gousto’s standard delivery charge as varied from time to time (currently £3.99) each time an order is placed. b) Once the Promotion Period has ended, the Promoter (acting alongside an independent judge) will review all entries and choose one overall winner to win a year’s supply of recipe boxes subject to and conditional on the terms outlined above. c) The winner of the Prize is at the Promoter’s discretion, and photos will be judged by a representative from Gousto and an independent non-Gousto employee. d) Non-existing Gousto customers will be enrolled into a flexible subscription after redeeming the prize (skip/pause/cancel at any time for free). 9. Runner Up Prize: a) The first 50 people to submit a qualifying entry will receive a free regular Gousto recipe box containing 3 recipes for 2 people, to the value of £29.99. This prize does not include recipes with surcharge amounts. This prize is subject to the delivery charge outlined below. Therefore the runners up will be required to pay Gousto’s standard delivery charge as varied from time to time (currently £3.99) when placing their order for the single free regular box.
10. The delivery charge is not included in the Promotion. New Gousto customers will receive free delivery with their first order as a ‘Welcome treat’ and then any additional boxes thereafter will be subject to a delivery fee of £3.99. Existing Gousto customers will be charged a delivery fee of £3.99 from their first box.
11. Winners of the Prize and Runner Up Prize(s) will be required to respond within one month of notification (unless otherwise stated) confirming their acceptance of the prize. In the event winners do not respond to communications within this period or if any prize is declined, we reserve the right to disqualify that winner and draw another winner.
12. You may only enter once during the Promotion Period, and you may only win one Prize per household.
13. Winners will be notified of their Prize via email within 14 days of the closing date of the Promotional Period. Winners will then have one month to claim their prize.
14. By taking part in the Promotion and, in the event of winning the Prize or the Runner Up Prize and receiving Gousto boxes, you acknowledge, understand and agree that you will be bound by Gousto’s standard terms and conditions of sale available here.
15. The Promoter cannot accept any responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault of any kind.
16. Prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered. The decision by Gouso regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding.
17. The Promoter may be legally required to publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation, we may need to send the surname of the prize winner to anyone who requests we do so within one month after the closing date of the draw. You can object to this or request that we reduce the amount of information published or made available by emailing us at insight@gousto.co.uk. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
18. The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the prize draw if it becomes necessary to do so.
19. If, for reasons out of our control, the Prize is no longer available, you will be offered an alternative of equal or greater value than the Prize. The Promotion cannot be used with or alongside any other promotions, offers or discounts that Gousto offers its customers or non-customers from time to time.
20. Insofar as is permitted by law, Gousto, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of Gousto, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
21. We cannot accept any entries that we believe: a) Contain any content that is likely to be considered offensive by us or could negatively reflect the name, reputation, or goodwill of Gousto; b) Defames, misrepresents, or insult other people or companies, including, but not limited to Gousto; and/or c) Promotes any political agenda.
22. In the event of any dispute, the Promoter’s decision is final.
23. Upon entering the Promotion, we will use your personal details (name and email address) supplied to us for the purposes of administering the Promotion and for no other purpose unless we have your consent. If you are selected as one of our winners of the Prize or Runners Up Prize, you will be required to accept Gousto’s standard terms and conditions available here and Gousto’s privacy policy available here. Please ensure you have read and understand these terms and conditions before creating an account and signing up to Gousto. All personal data supplied to us by you in order to take part in the Promotion will be deleted once winners have been selected (and in any event within two months after the promotion end date). Your personal details will at all times be kept confidential and in accordance with current data protection legislation.
24. By entering this Promotion you have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions. Gousto reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
25. These terms & conditions are governed by English Law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
