Our limited edition popcorn was so POPular that we’ve decided to share the secret recipes you’ll need to whip them up yourself.
So steal the show with our five flavour-it-yourself popcorn recipes, inspired by Gousto hall of flavour fame.
Steak, Truffle Roasties and Yorkshire Pud
Hot and Spicy Chicken Vindaloo
Bacon and Pineapple Hawaiian Pizza
Steak, Truffle Roasties and Yorkshire Pud
100g Popcorn
2 – 3 tbsp Butter or oil
½ tsp Dried thyme
½ tsp Dried Rosemary
1 tsp Onion powder
½ tsp Mustard powder
½ Beef stock cube
1 tsp salt
Pinch of black pepper
Step 1 In a small saucepan, melt your butter over medium heat. Once melted add your stock cube, onion powder and mustard powder, and cook on low for 5 – 10 minutes. Then add the rest of your ingredients and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 2 Pour the mixture over your popcorn and give it a good mix to make sure it’s evenly covered.
Hot and Spicy Chicken Vindaloo
100g Popcorn
2 tbsp Butter or Ghee
1 tsp Cayenne pepper / Chilli powder
½ tsp Ground Cloves
½ tsp Ground cinnamon
½ tsp Ground cumin
1 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Fenugreek leaves
1 tsp Salt
10 curry leaves (optional)
Step 1 In a small saucepan, melt your butter over medium heat. Once melted, add all of the spices and curry leaves. Cook until the spices are aromatic and the curry leaves are crispy.
Step 2 Pour the mixture over your popcorn and give it a good mix to make sure it’s evenly covered.
Sweet and Spicy Katsu Curry
100g Popcorn
2 – 3 tbsp Coconut oil
1 tbsp Medium curry powder
1- 2 tsp Maple syrup
½ tsp Turmeric
½ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp Ground white pepper
Step 1 In a small saucepan, melt your coconut oil over medium heat. Once melted, add your spices and maple syrup, and cook for 5 minutes or until the spices are aromatic.
Step 2 Pour the mixture over your popcorn and give it a good mix to make sure it’s evenly covered.
Creamy Macaroni Cheese
100g Popcorn
2 – 3 tbsp Butter or Plant-based butter
2 tsp Nutritional yeast
1 tsp Salt
½ tsp Onion powder
10g Crumbled Blue cheese (optional)
Step 1 In a small saucepan, melt your butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the onion powder, nutritional yeast and salt and cook on low for 5 – 7 minutes.
Step 2 Pour the mixture over your popcorn and give it a good mix to make sure it’s evenly covered.
Step 3 Sprinkle over crumbled blue cheese (if using).
Bacon and Pineapple Hawaiian Pizza
100g popcorn
2 tbsp butter
2 rashers crispy bacon (finely chopped)
2 tbsp pineapple juice
½ tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp smoked salt
Step 1 In a small saucepan, melt your butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the pineapple juice, smoked paprika and smoked salt. Cook on low for 5 – 7 minutes.
Step 2 Pour the mixture over your popcorn and give it a good mix to make sure it’s evenly covered.
Step 3 Sprinkle over the bacon.
