Gousto’s Health Gains And Goals
If you like our lip-lickingly delicious, healthy meals, then you’re in for a treat – because we’re always working on ways to make them even better. Here’s a taste of what we’ve been up to and our health goals for the future…
Bang on target
All of our core recipes are now under 1000 calories, with less than 20g of saturated fat, less than 3g of salt and have at least 1 of your 5-a-day – that’s including all the extra bits and bobs you’ll add from your pantry at home. So you can rest easy knowing we’ve got you covered on those days you want a tasty meal that doesn’t feel too much like cheating.
Up with the veg
In 2020 we added over 300 portions of veg to our recipes – which meant that by the end of the year, 66% of our dishes had at least 2 of your 5-a-day. Overall in 2021, our customers piled their plates with 148, 235, 667 portions of veg.
Down with the salt
In 2020, we switched from stock cubes to stock powders – reducing the amount of salt in those recipes by a whole gram. And we didn’t stop there. From ingredient pastes to tortilla wraps, we’ve worked closely with our suppliers to reduce the salt in our dishes without impacting on flavour.
What’s next?
We want every Gousto meal to leave the world in a better place – not just the planet, but people too. So we’ve got some big health goals.
