Vegan Jelly, Inspired by The Office
Now, I’m not here to influence anyone’s Netflix queue, in fact, I’m really only here to pass on a vegan jelly recipe. BUT I do feel it’s only right that I start this blog by letting you know; you can now watch all seasons of the US office on Netflix. And no, of course that had nothing to do with why we decided to put our colleague’s stapler in jelly. Nothing at all.
Recipe
Ingredients:
- 500ml lemonade
- 4 tbsp agar flakes
- Juice of half a lemon
- A few drops of yellow food coloring
- (1 stapler)
Step 1: Add the lemonade, lemon juice, yellow food colouring and agar flakes in a pan over a medium heat. Bring to a simmer and then stir until the agar flakes are completely dissolved. Pour into your mould and chill for 2 hours in the fridge until set.
Adding fruit (or maybe, a stapler?) Pour 1/3rd jelly into your mould then place in the freezer for 30 minutes until set. Use this base to add your decoration (or office supplies) before pouring in the rest of the jelly and chilling until set.
Gousto tip – if you’re using a specific mould for your jelly, place it on a scale and set the scale to zero. Fill with water and this will tell you how much jelly you need to make to fill it, then you can scale the recipe up or down accordingly.
